2022 Formula 1 Series: How to Watch, US Grand Prix, Miami Grand Prix

March 21, 2022 by Stephen Spiewak

2022 Formula 1 Grand Prix Schedule

Formula 1 racing has never been more popular in the United States.

While NASCAR rose in popularity across the U.S. over the past few decades, F-1 racing continued to blossom internationally.

However, Formula 1 popularity is reaching new heights domestically, thanks in part to "Formula 1: Drive to Survive.”

Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive Fuels F1 Growth

The Netflix documentary, which gives a behind-the-scenes look into the drama and dynamics of the Formula 1 world, has introduced the sport to a wide audience.

“I think it’s got to be the single most important impact for Formula 1 in North America,” Zak Brown, chief executive of McLaren Racing, told the New York Times in October 2021. “Almost every comment you get from someone out of the U.S., they reference ‘Drive to Survive.’”

Excitement for the sport continued to soar with the controversial ending to the 2021 season, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen holding off Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) in a one-lap shootout in Abu Dhabi.

The 2022 F1 season began in Bahrain with the Bahrain Grand Prix with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc emerging victorious.

The U.S. will host two Grand Prix races in 2022: the US Grand Prix (Circuit of the Americas - Austin, Texas) in October and the Miami Grand Prix in May at Miami International Autodrome.

Whether you’re looking to watch races from home or curious about Formula 1 tickets to experience it live, Vivid Seats has you covered.
